Budget Friendly and Easy Sirloin Tip Roast

Why did I buy a Sirloin Tip Roast I had no idea how to prepare?   It was on sale at Publix for $3.99 per pound, of course!  I did a little research, grabbed a few of my go-to kitchen staples and ended up with a tender, juicy medium rare roast beef. (My house smelled wonderful too!) Try this Easy Sirloin Tip Roast on the weekend and you will have leftovers for a weeknight meal later on.

Easy and Delicious Sirloin Tip Roast

Sirloin Tip Roast is NOT for the Slow Cooker

We’ve all done the slow cooker chuck roast pot roast type thing, but sirloin tip roast is a higher quality cut more suited to the oven, especially if you want it to come out medium rare and juicy.   The sirloin tip roast goes into a 500 degree oven for 10 minutes per pound, then you turn off the oven and leave the roast alone for another ten minutes per pound.  It may sound unconventional but it produces a tender, juicy roast rather than the shoe leather you might get in a medium oven for a longer time period.

Sirloin Tip Roast Needs to Rest Before and After Cooking!

Be sure to let your sirloin tip roast sit at room temperature for one hour BEFORE roasting; it is much better if starts at room temperature!  For this recipe,  I made an herb and mustard coating and the family loved it !  I usually roast my sirloin tip roast in a glass baking dish.   I’ve found lots of deals on cookware and other household items at DealYard.com, sometimes at 80% off retail!  Check it out for some kitchen bargains!

Sirloin Tip Roast is One of My Easiest Recipes

This Sirloin Tip Roast recipe is designed to be incredibly easy, which is why I make it with garlic powder instead of fresh garlic.  You could absolutely substitute a few (or more) cloves of minced garlic; just rub it all over your roast.  A few friends have asked me what Italian Seasoning is.  It’s simply a blend of Marjoram, Rosemary, Thyme. Savory, Sage, Oregano and Basil.

You find it Italian Seasoning in the spice aisle of any store or on Amazon, where I have been buying pretty much everything lately! Check out the deals on cooking supplies and gadgets! And sign up for Amazon Prime, which pays for itself in a month or two. You can have just about anything delivered in two days or less; it saves gas and time!  It took me a few years to join because I balked at the price, but I absolutely love it.  The other day I ordered several twelve packs of sodas for a party, they were only about $3.00 each, with free delivery!  Now, I use it for grocery staples, dog food, paper towels, and lots of other items.

Since I discovered this roasting method, I’ve used it over and over with various roasts; it’s just so easy!   The exact cooking time may vary depending on how well insulated your oven is and how you like your meat cooked.

Happy Roasting! Enjoy your Budget Friendly and Easy Sirloin Tip Roast!
